Alan:

This sounds like my working environment.  Make sure that you only have one
WINSOCK.DLL in your path.  In my case it is Novell's \NET\BIN directory.

Multiple WINSOCK.DLLs will cause GPFs.  I would also recommend upgrading to
VLMs 1.1 if you haven't already done so.

Are you certain that the data is not being sent?  This is an educated
stab in the dark:

If you're using iptrace under AIX to watch incoming packets, be
careful.  iptrace doesn't necessarily write packet information to its
trace file after every packet is received (writes to the trace file
are buffered).  It is a good habit never to run ipreport without
stopping iptrace first.

Subject: Possibly a GREAT Winsock Telnet?!?!?!

I don't know if this is a "kosher" thing to do, but I downloaded the VxD beta
from ftp.microsoft.com, and I didn't install it, but I just took the
telnet.exe and ftp.exe files out, and I use them with Trumpet Winsock...The
telnet is real good, but I want to know if I am doing something "wrong,"
hopefully not illegal....
